“Is not this the fast that I choose:  to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover them, and not to hide yourself from your own kin?”  (Isa 58:6-7)

BYOP assists families out of poverty towards dignity and productivity as children of God. As education is one of the best ways to help people out of poverty, BYOP has focused on the Scholarship of Hope program. The main recipients of the BYOP Scholarship of Hope program are the needy children of the Immaculate Queen of Heaven Missionaries in Cebu in the Philippines. BYOP also supports the BLD-ANCOP walk for the housing project in the Philippines.

The Mission Ministry is BLD’s arm in serving the less fortunate of various communities.  We live by the Gospel, not only by being a good example to others, but by humbly feeding the hungry and the homeless at the Good Shepherd Ministries, volunteering at the Out of the Cold program, assisting in the Youth Without Shelter program, and visiting and singing Christmas carols to the elderly at the Providence Healthcare Centre and at the Kipling Acres Long Term Care.  The Mission Ministry is also greatly involved in the development of Marriage Encounters and Life in the Spirit Seminars for parishes and other prayer communities, as well as organizing Praise and Worship at Warkworth Correctional Institute and at the Trenton military base.

PSDD develops faith communities in various parishes in and outside the Archdiocese of Toronto through the presentation of BLD’s formation programs.

Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.’”  (Mt 9:35-38)

BLD/OSG GVO Kitchener is BLD’s Mission Apostolate arm in serving and sharing awareness of our evangelization outside of BLD Toronto.  It was established as an official District-in-Process of BLD Toronto District on February 25th, 1998. We live by the Gospel, not only by being a good example to others, but by encouraging the Kitchener Prayer Group to continue their spiritual growth by being a good worker in the Lord’s vineyard, and by being good examples as Christ’s disciples. We encourage members to attend BLD Toronto’s virtual First Friday Mass, Praise and Worship, and Intercessory Prayer on Mondays. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we leave all the plans to be achieved in God’s time.

BLD/OSG Rochester-Elmira Prayer Group, established in 1994, is a community of families and individuals called together to a relationship of faith, hope and love with God. Currently, with approximately 50 active members, this vibrant community has completed 18 Life in the Spirit Seminars.

The BLD/OSG Barrie Prayer Group was founded on December 8, 2012.  We are composed of encountered married couples, singles, solo parents, and Life in the Spirit Seminar graduates.  We hold regular prayer meetings and conduct Life in the Spirit Seminars and Marriage Encounters in the parishes.  We are called to serve according to the purpose of God with Whom nothing is impossible.   We abide in God’s Word and give Him glory and praise.

The BLD/Winnipeg Prayer Group was founded on February 13, 2024. The first BLD Winnipeg Prayer Group conducted its first Marriage Encounter, a live-out activity on July 20-21, 2024 and it’s First Life in the Spirit Seminar followed soon after. May the Lord’s faithfulness and kindness be upon all as we trust in Him!
