The Pastoral Services Ministry invites you to the BLD Mid-Year Retreat on June 3, 2017, entitled “Religious Community Encounter” to be facilitated by Fr. Larry Tan, SDB, to be held at OLA basement hall from 8am to 4pm.

Millions of poor children around the world are deprived of access to education and proper shelter. As we all know, education is a basic human right and a significant factor in the development of children and communities. Education is a foundation for leadership and a key building block of a just society.

Last March 25, 2017, ANCOP Canada, which stands for "Answering the Cry of the Poor" has launched Ancop Walk for this year. Our community, through the BYOP Ministry, has supported ANCOP's mission to improve the quality of life of the poor children and families in destitute countries in Asia and Africa. ANCOP's vocation is to spread the good news by sharing the life and love of Christ with the poor by educating a child, building starter homes and strengthening family life anchored on Christian values.

Pope Francis inspires us when he said, "In the poor and outcast, we see Christ's face; by loving and helping the poor, we love and serve Christ; we are called to find Christ in the poor..." It is with this inspiration that the BYOP ministry appeals to your generous hearts to help us raise funds to continue to touch the lives of our less fortunate brethren. Let us be a blessing to others. As we are blessed here in Canada, let us reach out and share our blessings. As we help the poor, we ourselves will be blessed a thousandfold.

Please register online at ancopcanada.org or you may contact any member of the BYOP Ministry. A table is being set up at the OLA basement hall starting May 12, 2017 and every Friday thereafter.

Together, let us make a difference in the lives of the poor!
